occurrenceRemarksGround herb to twenty centimetres. Rhizome running below ground, with fibrous roots; turns up as stem, which bears feathery roots, which ramify in the litter layer, amongst the lower leaves. Leaves arising more or less in opposite pairs, in ranks around the stem; leaf bases white and sheathing. Inflorescence arising low, axillary, few flowered. Perianth with three outer white segments and three inner pale purple segments. Rain forest, slightly disturbed mostly by selective tree felling.
